Prof. Dr Franz Heidhues

Prof. Heidhues was a revered member of our Expert Group and a valued debating partner. His deep knowledge, long experience and enlightening insights enriched Live Energies and our attempts to define a viable international business path. May his noble soul rest in peace.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Franz Heidhues held degrees in economics from the University of Münster, Germany. He was a member of the scientific advisory council of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and guided international development projects worldwide.

Professor Heidhues worked on capital market analyses and economic policy during his stint at the World Bank, Washington D.C., USA and coordinated various projects in agriculture and rural development. At the University of Hohenheim, Germany, he was professor for Agricultural Economics in developing countries and focused on rural development theory and policy and served as Head of the Center of Tropical Studies.

Professor Heidhues worked in various countries in Africa, Middle East, and Asia and maintained research cooperation with renowned universities and research institutes in Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Jemen, Cameroun, Benin, and Ethiopia. He authored and co-authored several publications in internationally renowned journals and books.
